NEW DELHI: Serious allegations have been levelled against Shoranur MLA P K Sasi have been raised in a complaint lodged by DYFI woman leader to CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury. The complaint stated that Sasi tried to grab her after calling her to Mannarkad area committee office. He used to disturb her continuously. He had also made derogatory calls through phone. The woman has also submitted a 15 minutes long audio clip with the complaint. The complaint also includes details of the phone calls.
It has also been alleged that Rs 1 crore and a high post in DYFI have been offered to her for settling the case. The woman had earlier complained to state leaders of CPM and polit-bureau member Brinda Karat on August 14. She lodged a complaint to CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury yesterday as there was no action on the pervious complaints. An available PB meet was called and directed the state leadership to investigate the complaint. It has also been directed to investigate the complaint by a two member sub-committee of state secretariat. One member should be a woman.
CPM Palakkad district secretariat meet is also being held today. The complaint against MLA will be discussed in this meeting though it is not included in the previously fixed agenda. The district and state leaderships have not responded on the issue yet. However, the leaders have hinted that action will be taken against the MLA if the complaint is found to be genuine. Action will be taken only after hearing the MLA’s explanation. Some leaders have raised a demand that the party should take action against MLA.
The complaint of DYFI woman leader was a topic of discussion among the party leaders of the district. Some leaders had informed the woman that the complaint will be considered during the district secretariat meeting. However, the woman approached central committee when no action was taken on this issue.
