THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Supreme Court of India has decriminalized homosexuality in a historical verdict on Thursday. Advocate Sangeetha Lakshmana has come forward with her opinion following the verdict. “Though raising equal justice and equal rights should be appreciated, why are the people celebrating this verdict?”, asks Sangeetha.

“I do not understand why women are celebrating this verdict. What benefit will this verdict cause in women’s lives? Will there be any change in the situations that a woman undergoes in the society? It is very difficult to live in this country”, said Sangeetha in her Facebook post.
