THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SNDP general secretary Vellappalli Nadeshan came forward praising Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and flood relief activities of the government. “Pinarayi deserves to be called as a ‘leader’. Therefore, I approve him. Pinarayi has the mind to protect those who are with him. Those who divide the members are not leaders. Pinarayi became party secretary at a time when there were a lot of internal conflicts within the party. He solved the conflicts and united the party under one leadership. Pinarayi’s leadership was able to overcome a huge problem faced by the CPM”, Vellappalli Nadeshan told Kerala Kaumudi in a special interview on his 82nd birthday.
“Pinarayi is a genuine person. He has no self-interests. I do not support calling Pinarayi ‘dictator’. Only allegation against Pinarayi is lavalin case. That was raised from party members itself. He threw out E P Jayarajan from the cabinet when an allegation was raised against him. That is Pinarayi. People see him as a blind person sees an elephant. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy is more popular among people. However, people are not aware of the things Pinarayi do. Everything is online, unlike Oommen Chandy who did everything directly”, said Vellappalli.
“I will give hundred marks to the state government for the flood relief activities. Pinarayi led everything directly. There had been no other time when the government services have worked in such an effective manner. G Sudhakaran coordinated the relief activities and visited camps without even wearing a footwear. Sudhakaran is a leader who has captured people’s hearts”, he added.
