THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The post-mortem report of the nun who died in a convent in Pathanapuram revealed the possibility of a suicide, said G Pushpakumar, Pathanapuram Sub-Inspector. The autopsy was conducted in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and the body was shifted to the mortuary of Government hospital at Punalur later.

Pushpakumar said that there was nothing unusual in the post-mortem report.

"We still believe that she might have committed suicide. There is no evidence to prove that she was murdered. However, we will wait until the investigation report comes. The probe is on and interrogation is also progressing", he said.

A team of Pathanapuram police was present during the post-mortem examination held in the hospital. The autopsy began at 10 am and was completed by 12 noon.

The body of 55 year old nun Susan Mathew was found in the well of the convent in Pathanapuram at 10:30 am on Sunday. Susan is a native of Kallada in Kollam and a teacher of St.Stephens School in Pathanapuram. Susan’s hair was cut and this also confused the police.

The police have recorded statements of other nuns in the convent. They told the police that Susan was under depression recently. The police have got information that she had visited hospital and holy places regularly. The police are investigating about the visitors of the convent and also about the relatives of the nun.
