KOTTAYAM: The Crime Brach team has again begun the search for the couple who went missing from Thazhathangadi one year ago.

The search operation is being conducted in Kumarakom area using a special scanner of C-DAC.  

Crime Branch Hurt and Homicide DySP Saviour Sebastian said that the search will continue for two more days.
Hashim (42) and Habeeba (37) had gone missing under mysterious circumstances on April 6, 2017.

They went missing on the hartal day after they went out, saying that they would get some food for their children.
Following this, the relatives gave complaint to the district police chief. The case was first probed by the West police and then handed over to the Crime branch.

In between, Hashim’s father Abdul Khadar approached the high court, seeking to hand over the case to the CBI.
Police are currently searching again in Kumarakom Cheeppunkal, Vembanattu Kayal and road side canal.

The scanner now being used was brought from Thiruvananthapuram and it has the ability to scan areas under water.
