THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The order of the Supreme Court, cancelling the ordinance for admission in Kannur, Karuna Medical Colleges, is a setback for managements and not the government, Health Minister K K Shailaja has said in an apparent bid to pass the buck to the managements. She said on Wednesday that the government respected the court order.
“The government brought the Ordinance in order protect the future of students. We will take the next step after receiving a copy of the court order,” she told media persons.
Earlier, the Supreme Court cancelled the Ordinance, criticising the government that it had brought out the Ordinance in order to protect the students who gained admission through irregular means.
