THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V S Rajesh, deputy editor of Kerala Kaumudi has been chosen as the recipient of E K Nayanar media award of Kerala assembly. He has won this award for his series published in the Kerala Kaumudi newspaper titled ‘Business in saving lives’ about the sales of stents used for heart treatments. Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan told reporters in the press meet that the award consists a cash amount of Rs. 50,000, a citation, and plaque.
This series is being awarded for the third time. The series had earlier won R Krishnaswamy award and V K Madhavankutty award.
V S Rajesh have won 22 awards including one from President of India for bringing SSLC question paper leak into light in 2005. He has also won several other media awards.
Rajesh is the son of late Vasukkutty Panicker and Satheedevi, residents of ‘Kairali’ in Kadappakkada, Kollam. His wife Deepa is a teacher of Vellanad government school in Thiruvananthapuram. Their son Rajdeep Sreedhar is a seventh standard student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom. Phone: 9946108234
