KOLLAM: Siblings were killed in a car accident as they were returning to Kollam after dropping their friend at Thiruvananthapuram airport. Four people have sustained severe injuries. The dead have been identified as Kiran Lal (20) and Sarath Lal (22), residents of S K Bhavan in Ambedkar Colony in Chaathinamkulam in Karikkode, Kollam. Their friends Visakh (21), Manikandan (22), Vishnu Raj (23) ad Sreeraj (22) sustained injuries.

The accident happened near Sreerapuram petrol pump on national highway in Parippalli at 3:45 am. The accident happened as the car hit after losing control due to over speed. Kiran had died before the Highway Patrolling team reached the spot. Emergency medical treatments were given to those who sustained injuries from Parippalli Medical College hospital and they were later shifted to Medical College hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Sreeraj was later shifted to a private hospital. Sarath Lal died at 7 am on Thursday. Kiran’s body is kept at Parippalli Medical College mortuary and Sarath’s body is kept in the mortuary of Thiruvananthapuram medical college.
