KOCHI: The nuns who are striking against Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulackal have said that the police have been trying to sabotage the investigation into the complaint lodged by victim nun, who was allegedly sexually abused by Franco.

“The attempt of the police has been to protract the case. Even the court seems to be denying us justice,” they were reacting to the court’s order not to arrest the bishop without proper evidence.

Meanwhile, the nuns’ strike in Kochi entered the sixth day. ‘Save Our Sisters’ Action Council representatives informed that Women’s get-together for the cause will take place on Thursday. Women’s organisations and women’s leaders will throng the protest venue. On the fifth day the venue was conspicuous with film and socio-cultural activists.

The investigation team sent notice to the bishop on Wednesday, asking him to be present before them on September 19.
