THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Noted writer K R Meera has come forward against the suspicions raised by the society criticising the nun who lodged a complaint against Jalandhar bishop. “Several people are asking why the nun had not complained when she was abused twelve times before. It is not a coincidence that the same question was asked to the Sooryanelli rape victim who was sexually abused for 40 days when she was just 16 years old”, said the writer.  

“The girls who join convents at a younger age are legally children. The nuns and priests in the convents are responsible for the girls’ character and personality formations. Therefore, if such a person is not brave enough to reveal the truth, the church and priests should be blamed”, said Meera.
