NEW DELHI: On Monday, two ministers were dropped from the cheif minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar's cabinet in Goa.

The Bhartiya Janata Party's Francis D'Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar have been sick for some time and are admitted at hospitals.

This comes at a time when the Mr Parrikar, the Chief Minister is undergoing treatment for a pancreatic ailment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.

The urban development department's head Mr D'Souza, and Mr Madkaikar, the power minister, have been dropped from the cabinet, according to an official in the CMO.

Currently, Mr D'Souza is admitted at a hospital in the USA, while Madkaikar, who in June had suffered a brain stroke is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai.

According to the officials, two BJP leaders - Nilesh Cabral and Milind Naik - will be sworn in as ministers this evening.

In the previous Laxmikant Parsekar-led cabinet, Mr Naik was the power minister, while Cabral would be sworn in for the first time.

On Sunday, the president of BJP, Amit Shah had said that Mr Parrikar would continue in his post and announced that a reshuffle of the state's ministers would soon take place.
