BHUBANESHWAR: Athlete P U Chithra who won bronze in the women's 1,500m race at the Asian Games in Indonesia. She was appointed as a senior clerk at the Southern Railway's Palakkad division.

Kerala government had made her wait for a job under sports quota, therefore, she took a decision to accept the offer from Indian Railways.

P U Chithra is an Indian middle-distance runner who specialises in the 1500 m distance. She had earlier won gold medals at the 2016 South Asian Games and 2017 Asian Championships.
