ALAPPUZHA: The housewife who was seen hanging from a window in her house at Kattanam Kannanakuzhi had been murdered, the police have said.  
In connection with the incident, the police have arrested a 19-year-old boy from the neighbourhood; he is the woman’s son’s friend.

The arrested has been identified as Puthen veettil Jerin Raju and the dead person is Mankoottam Vadakkethil Sudhakaran’s wife Tulsi (52).

According to the police, Jerin had tried to steal money from the cupboard in Tulsi’s house. When she tried to block him, she strangulated her to death.
Later he hanged her body to the window rods in order to give the impression that she committed suicide. He fled the scene after scattering chilly powder at the spot.
Police said that he was an accused in ganja case earlier.
