WAYANAD: Now it is confirmed that a group of Maoists had reached Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Pookode at around 3 am on Wednesday.

Three-member gang including women landed on the college premise. They pasted Pro-Maoist posters on walls near the front gate. They also claimed to have planted explosives inside the college and threatened the security men to blow off the college if anyone dared to pull down the posters.

The security watchers at the college told the Vythiri police that the gang threatened them, brandishing guns and pasted posters at the entrance and surrounding areas. They also said that the Maosits checked their mobile phones to check whether they had made any call to police or others.

When some students arrived at the spot hearing commotion, the Maoists told them that they were there to propagate their ideologies.
