THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Supreme Court has come out with a very significant ruling that extramarital sex is not a criminal offence anymore in India. When media men are flooding legal experts with questions on this ruling, which nullifies the colonial law of adultery, Advocate Sangeetha Lakshmana makes a plea to media men to leave her alone and don’t ask her about it.
“I’m busy with cases of my clients and I have not studied the new ruling. Moreover, I’m not game for making comments on the case since I’m neither a wife nor do I have a husband…hence kindly exclude me from channel talks,” she says.
Further Sangeetha says on her FB post:
# I don't sleep around with married men. When I say I don't sleep around with married men, I mean I don't sleep around with HAPPILY married men.
When I say I don't sleep around with HAPPILY married men, I mean I don't sleep around with married men who PRETEND TO BE HAPPILY married to wives who pretend as well, to be happily married. In short, his risk his headache. Not mine.
