CHERTHALA: The visuals of intimate moments between a former municipality councilor and a cooperative bank staff member at Thenmala tourist centre went viral on WhatsApp. Both of them are married. CPM has appointed a two-member commission for investigating the issue. Bank officer has saved the name of the woman councilor as ‘Chakkara’. There is another group named ‘Chakkarakkulam’. He sent the videos to this group by mistake.  

Eight selfies taken by them during the by election campaign at Chengannur were posted to the group by mistake. Though he had requested the group admin not to spread the photographs, some members sent it to the party leaders. Both of them are Cherthala local committee members and the investigation is as per the direction of CPM Cherthala area committee. CPM members of the area have also lodged a complaint to the district and state party leaderships with printouts of some photographs. However, allegations have been raised that the complaint is motivated by conflicts within the party.
