THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is alleged now that the policemen in Perorkada SAP camp who didn’t want to take part in the salary challenge have been transferred to Malappuram MSP camp. Fourteen policemen including 9 havildars, who didn’t cooperate with the salary challenge were transferred to Rapid Action Force.
Opposition unions alleged that this was done to avenge the disagreement letter given by about 300 employees in the SAP camp.
However, the official explanation is that all junior officers are transferred every year, which is a usual practice. Among the transferred lot, there are also staff who have donated their salary to the chief minister’s disaster relief fund.
From Peroorkkada SAP camp, 40 persons were transferred to Malappuram. Among them, nine havildars were employees who were not ready to accept the demand for parting with a month’s salary.
Besides this, five civil police officers who said no to salary challenge were also removed.
From the SAP camp, the government didn’t get a favourable response. 300 out of the 700 employees here disagreed to shell out a month’s salary.
