THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 23-year-old Jineesh Jeron, a fisherman and native of Poonthura who was involved in rescue activities during floods was killed in an accident.

Jineesh, who had sustained injuries after meeting with an accident on Friday at Uchakada, Poovar died in ICU of a private hospital on Saturday morning. Jineesh and his friend was travelling to Tamil Nadu and their bike skidded off the road and a lorry ran over Jineesh. Jineesh was immediately taken to hospital.

Jineesh was involved in disaster rescue activities in Chengannur during the time of floods and he was a member of the organization called ‘Coastal Warriors’. The body kept at mortuary will be handed over to relatives after post mortem.
