THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Industries minister E P Jayarajan has said that the government has not issued land in Kochi KINFRA to start a brewery. He also said that allegations are being raised about a land that has not been sanctioned. Leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala had raised allegations that the government had issued 10 acre land to Power Infratech for starting a brewery.
“KINFRA provides land and essentials for starting up a business. Anyone can submit a request at KINFRA for getting land and space for starting a business. KINFRA will notify them if suitable place is available. Land and other essentials will be issued after completing further process. However, the allegation raised by the opposition that the government has sanctioned 10 acre land to start a brewery is baseless”, said the minister.
Meantime, excise minister T P Ramakrishnan said that the government has not taken a decision about issuing land for starting brewery. A decision was taken to issue license, but the licence has not yet been issued to any company. Only primary evaluation has been completed, clarified the minister.
