THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala has come forward demanding that the Travancore Devaswom Board should file a review plea against the Supreme Court verdict that allows women of all ages to enter Sabarimala. “We should consider the practical difficulties and its effect on society. The Supreme Court should re-examine it. Previous UDF government had taken a stand that the rituals and beliefs of Sabarimala should be preserved and women should not be allowed to enter the temple. UDF government had submitted an affidavit at the Supreme Court on February 5, 2016 in connection with this. However, LDF government took a stand against this at the court”, said Chennithala.
“The court made this a verdict since LDF government took such a stand to cheat the public. Every place of worship in the country works on the basis of certain rituals and beliefs. Violating this will cause a huge injury to the society”, he added.
