THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chairman of the Kerala Administrative Reforms Commission V S Achuthanandan has come forward against the government decision that has given approval for a brewery at Elappulli in Palakkad where water scarcity is huge. He said that the decision should be reconsidered.

“Approval cannot be given to companies which exploit water. The brewery was allowed to function at a place which was declared as ‘high water scarce area’ by the Kerala Groundwater department, and it is very concerning.  The government should not cause distress to people who had protested against Pepsi, Coca-Cola companies for years”, said VS.

Meantime, CPM local committee has also come forward against this brewery. Local CPM leaders had staged protest against the Pepsi-Coca Cola plants as well.
