sabarimala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP mouthpiece 'Janmabhoomi' has published an article supporting the Supreme Court verdict that allows women of all ages to enter Sabarimala. The article written by R Sanjayan, deputy director of Bharatheeya Vichara Kendra states that some people are trying to create confusion within the Hindu community following the verdict.

"The court verdict does not oppose Hindu morality or community. The court has made a verdict which banned entry for women between the ages of 10 and 50 to Sabarimala invalid. This ban had no logic or the support of tantric rituals. The Supreme Court verdict does not affect the beliefs or rituals of Sabarimala.  When, more women pilgrims arrive at the temple, it will increase the glory and fame of the temple. The verdict has an effect only on Sabarimala”, states the article.

“Freedom of religion is a fundamental right, however constitution clearly state that it should not be against other fundamental rights. When we look at this verdict on the basis of this, we cannot oppose it. Women devotees can decide whether they want to enter Sabarimala or not. We should accept the fact that the women are able to take this decision. Everyone should understand that the period of patriarchy has come to an end”, said Sanjayan in the article.
