KALPETTA: Three people including a father and son have died at Vellamunda near Mananthavady in Wayanad. The dead have been identified as 75-year old Thigannayi , his son 35-year old Pramod and their relative 35-year old Prasad. Thigannayi died on Wednesday after consuming spurious alcohol given by a priest who came to their house for offering a worship. However, relatives thought that he died due to old age and decided to conduct his funeral on Thursday.

Pramod and Prasad drank the liquor on Wednesday night without knowing that it was spurious. Though both of them were brought to Mananthavady district hospital immediately, Pramod died on the way and Prasad died in the hospital.
