TANUR: The police have taken a woman into custody for murdering her husband. 40-year-old fisherman Savad, resident of Pourakath in Anjudi, Tanur was killed on Wednesday between 12 am and 1:30 am. The police have clarified that Savad was murdered by his wife Soujath and her friend. The police have taken Soujath into custody and search for her friend is underway.
Savad and his eldest child had slept on the veranda on Wednesday night since power failure occurred. The door of the veranda was locked. When blood splashed, the child woke up and saw a man running. The police said that the injury on his neck may have caused using a piece of wood or a weapon. Police had also found out that the murderer may have entered the house through the backdoor. This investigation led to the arrest of Soujath.
Savad, his wife and children have been living here for the last two years. Though Savad is a fisherman, he had been doing many other jobs. Savad is the son of Kammu and Ummachumma. The couple have four children, Sharja Sheri, Saajad, Shamsa Sheri and Sajala Sheri.
