THIRUVANATHAPURAM: Bar Owner Biju Ramesh on Saturday gave letters to Governor and home secretary, seeking further investigation against former finance minister K M Mani in bar bribery case.

The court had rejected the final report submitted by the Vigilance which said that there was no evidence to prove that K M Mani took One crore rupees bribe to help bar owners reopen the closed bars.

The court had also said that the petitioner could petition the Vigilance or government for getting the case re-investigated. Biju Ramesh sought permission as per this order.

As per the amendment the Central government brought out in the Prevention of Corruption Act, a case can be filed or re-investigated only with the permission of the State government. That is why again permission was sought. The case will be considered again on December 10.

The court had rejected two reports the Vigilance had filed absolving Mani of graft charges during the UDF term.
