THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The low pressure formed 730 km North –West of Minicoy may turn into cyclone within 24 hours. But the Met department informs that the cyclone threat in Kerala has blown over. This may move off to Oman and Yemen. However, there will be heavy rains in Kerala on Sunday and Monday.
The Secretariat has already opened round-the-clock cell which comprises State and National disaster management personnel.
Meanwhile, the Met department has withdrawn the Red alert from Idukki and Malappuram as there are only chances for intense rain.
In Thiruvananthapuram, the Yellow Alert will remain till Monday. Yellow alert has also been declared in Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Wayanad, Kollam and Kozhikode districts for Saturday and Sunday.
In Palakkad district, Orange alert has been declared.
