THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V T Balram MLA has come forward asking whether there is any proof for how CPM spent the disaster relief fund collected from public.

“The party records reveal that almost Rs 18 crore was collected by CPM. However, this amount was transferred by the party’s local bodies to the chief minister’s disaster relief fund. If the state secretary of the party had given the total amount to the Chief Minister directly, there would have been no allegations. At present, no further details about the collected amount has come out. This is not sufficient to ensure transparency. Is there any proof for how CPM spent the disaster relief fund?” asked V T Balram.
