THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has clarified that a review plea will not be filed in the Sabarimala issue. “The government had informed that the Supreme Court verdict will be accepted, whatever it is. How can we file a review plea then?” asked Pinarayi in the press meet.

Chief Minister gave his reply by quoting several historical facts. “Kerala moved forward progressively through several renaissance movements and people are trying to destroy the unity of the state. Women had visited Sabarimala temple for monthly poojas. This argument was raised in the high court. Nobody should forget the social history of Kerala. Mannath Pathmanabhan had always stood against the injustices within the society”, said the chief minister.

“We had always though that nobody should interfere in religious customs. However, national parties later took the stand that the parties should involve in such matters. There were several protests for this including, Vaikom Satyagraha. Such renascent movements changed the lives of women”, pointed Pinarayi Vijayan.
