ALAPPUZHA: SNDP general secretary Vellapally Natesan has come forward criticising devaswom board president M Padmakumar. Vellappalli demanded the resignation of devaswom devaswom board president.

“Devaswom president and his family are preparing to participate in the protest against Sabarimala verdict. This cannot be justified. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has taken an open stand in this issue. The government had informed that they will accept whatever the Supreme Court verdict is. Therefore, how can the government file a review plea?” asked Vellapally.

“BJP and Congress are politicizing the issue. We should obey the law at the same time when we observe these customs and rituals. SNDP do not support this protest. The tantri family could have met the chief minister when they were called for a meeting to discuss the issue. Hindu community is not just the tantri and tantri family. It was not right to stage the protest in the name of the verdict. Now, attempts are being made to create a clash. BJP’s aim is to get more votes by politicising the issue. That is why they are staging protests in streets”, he said.
