V T Balram MLA has taken to his Facebook to urge Kasargod Central University to stop harassing students mentally.

“Research student Akhil Thazhathu had made an attempt to commit suicide after he was expelled from the University for putting up a post, criticising the university. It has to be presumed that the suicide attempt was a result of mental harassment meted out to the student by top authorities of the university including the vice-chancellor. Earlier also, a teacher in the varsity was harassed for similar reasons. Such an action from an educational institution in Kerala is not appreciable and it should be ensured that Kasargod is not Hyderabad,” he wrote on his post.
