PANTHALAM: KPCC working president K Sudhakaran said that if devotees stay united, neither police nor the army can land in Sabarimala. The government is hastening the decision to implement the Supreme Court verdict by deploying women police officers at Sannidhanam. He was speaking at an event in support of the devotees protesting to preserve faith and rituals related to Sabarimala.
“The government and courts should not take a final decision in connection with the rituals of temples. Tantris have the right to take such decisions. Their opinion will be final. This is a right for the tantris and devotees. No court or government has the authority to take decisions on such matters”, Sudhakaran said.
“We will not allow transforming Sabarimala to a tourist place. The LDF government forced the court in the name of gender equality so that such a verdict can be implemented. Sreedharan Pillai and BJP should first go to New Delhi and request the central government to amend the constitution. BJP is now being hypocritical. You have every right to gain votes democratically, however, that gain should not be at the cost of devotees’ lives”, he added.
