PATHANAMTHITTA: As protests grow louder and louder over women’s entry issue in Sabarimala, a woman among the protestors tried to commit suicide at Nilakkal on Tuesday. Suddenly, she climbed up a tree and threatened to commit suicide.
Meanwhile, sensing the possibility of the situation spinning out of control, ADGP Anil Kanth rushed to Nilakkal after getting the nod from the DGP.
He also gave orders to deploy women police officers at Pamba and Nilakkal, considering the current situation. Two battalions of policewomen will be deployed at these places. More possess of policemen will reach here by today (Tuesday) evening itself.
