THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said in a public rally at Gandhi Park here that the government had not taken any direct step over Sabarimala issue and it only tried to implement the Supreme Court order.
"The Supreme Court order is applicable to all in the country and the government is obliged to execute it. The government is not for locking horns with the believers," he said at the political explanatory meeting.
Coming down heavily on the Congress for joining the ongoing protest with the BJP, Pinarayi said he pitied the Congress for having stooped to this level. "We have broken traditions earlier also according to changing times. Now attempts are going on to destroy the secular mind of the people. Attempts are also on to isolate the government from believers."
