PATHANAMTHITTA: Chertahala woman Libi, who has claimed that she came for Ayyappa darshan after observing some days’ penance and wearing black dress and beaded chain, is known to be an atheist.

Her mindless post on her Facebook page that she is an atheist has drawn harsh criticisms on the social media. Now it is alleged that she has taken out a jolly trip to Sabarimala in order to provoke believers.

Libi was blocked at Pathanamthitta bus stand on Wednesday morning. Later she was removed from the place in a police jeep.
“Friends, today four people including me are going to Sabarimala. Among them, I and another person are atheists. I’m not going to Sabarimala out of devotion or wish but to change the old tradition….,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

Libi further criticises the ongoing protest, politicisation of the issue, attempts for “communal polarisation” and people behind it. She says that she wanted to go to Sabarimala to protest the above and ensure the victory of democracy over religious hegemony.
