NEW DELHI: Sabarimala protesters, many of them with covered faces, also targeted women media persons as well at Nilakkal and Pamba. At least four media organisations had to bear the brunt of agitation, though there was presence of police nearby.

Republic TV's Pooja Prasanna was beaten with sticks, Saritha S Balan from The News Minute was forced out of the Thiruvananthapuram-Pamba KSRTC bus. Protestors hurled abuse and swear words at them. The channel’s car was smashed. Personnel from CNN-News 18 and Aaj Tak were also targeted.

NDTV was stopped from covering the protests midway. Reporter Sneha Mary Koshy and cameraperson S P Babu were roughed up and asked to leave the spot. In the morning there was also attack against Mathrubhumi news cameraman.

In the morning, two women, who were among the first to begin the trek to the hilltop temple, were stopped by protesters on their way.
Though large possess of policemen were deployed in the tension-prone area early in the morning, the situation went out of their control as more protesting groups started flowing in.
