SABARIMALA: Devaswom board Minister Kadakampally Surendran has said that what is going on now in Sabarimala is a political agitation. “The strike will be dealt with politically,” he told media persons on Wednesday after a review meeting here.
The minister said that the government could not disobey the Supreme court order. “We have identified the people who unleash violence in Sabarimala. We had earlier mentioned that the government respect the sentiment of believers. We are not against protests. But it is the RSS and Sangh Parivar who are carry out attacks in its name. We are not trying to forcefully implement the Supreme Court order but the government’s obligation is to provide a peaceful atmosphere in the temple for devotees to offer prayer. The attackers will be handled appropriately. ” he said.
Kadakampally alleged that it was RSS who first filed a petition it in a court, seeking women’s entry in Sabarimala. “The BJP and Congress were not even parties in the case then or during the trial of the case that spanned 12 years. They have hidden all that and are acting for political gains.”
