PAMBA: Senior member of Tazhaman Thantri family Devaki Maheswararu Antharjanam and daughter Mallika Namboothiri were arrested by police in the morning and removed from Pamba where they were holding Nama japam (chanting of sharana mantra) in protest against the entry of all women in Sabarimala.

They were removed after tension heightened in Pamba. Both were shifted to Pamba station. Soon after this BJP State general secretary M T Ramesh, leaders Shobha Surendran and K Suendran led a nama japa session (chanting of sharanam) in protest against the arrest.

The police also arrested Ayyappa Seva Sangam members including women who protested at Pamba.
