THIRUANANTHAPURAM: G Raman Nair, KPCC executive member has been suspended for participating in a programme organized by BJP against the Supreme Court verdict allowing women of all ages to enter Sabarimala. The incident has faced several backlash in the social media as well as within the party. AICC took action against Raman Nair following this.

AICC had recieved several complaints in connection with the incident since it supports CPM's claims that BJP and the Congress are united in Sabarimala issue.

Though AICC had supported the Supreme Court verdict, KPCC had taken a different stand. Congress sources said the present situation demanded that the party protest openly to counter the campaigns of the CPM and BJP.
