SABARIMALA: Kochi based activist Rehna Fathima and journalist Kavitha have started climbing down Sabarimala following the warning from tantri that the temple will be closed if women enter Sabarimala. Women should not step on the eighteen steps, he said.

The women decided to go back when they were informed the decision taken by the tantric, said IG Sreejith. He added that they will be brought back under tight security. Rehna also said that she had no other option than going back.

Devaswom minister Kadakmapally Surendran had clarified that the government will not allow activists to turn the holy shrine of Sabarimala to a place to show off their strength.
