THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan demanded that no one should create a clash at Sabarimala. “Nobody should not make Sabarimala a battlefield. BJP and Congress have politicized this issue. If they opposite women entry, why aren’t they filing review plea? Congress and BJP are in an unholy unison. People should realize this. The party will conduct marches and meetings to make aware of the situation”, Kodiyeri said.
“The party does not oppose the entry of activists or any women. There can be several devotees among activists. However, if their presence could cause any riot or clash, police can take action”, he added.
Two women, including a reporter from Hyderabad, had begun trekking to Sabarimala hill Friday amid strong protests by devotees opposing the entry of girls and women of menstrual age into the Lord Ayyappa temple. However, they returned without visiting the temple as several devotees staged a protest in front of the eighteen steps.
