KOCHI: A women's organization has been formed within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) as an alternative to Women in Cinema Collective. The committee consist of 12 members. It is led by KPAC Lalitha and it includes Ponnamma Babu, Kukku Parameswaran, Manju Pillai, Lakshmi Priya, Usha, Seenath, Beena Antony, Thasni Khan, Lissy Joseph, Shamna Kassim and Priyanka.

AMMA President Mohanlal had hinted about forming such a committee in the press meet held on previous day. However, it has been reported that Mohanlal's direction was to form a three member committee and some members decided to include more member without his permission. AMMA executive committee members Rachana Narayanankutti and Honey Rose were also unaware of this. The committee will be led by senior actress KPAC Lalitha. However, a resistance has come up from the AMMA members itself since Lalitha had made several remarks against women during a press meet with actor Siddique
