KOZHIKODE: BJP state president Sreedharan Pillai said that the central government cannot intervene in the issue unless the state government pass a resolution after an immediate assembly meet. He was addressing the media in Kozhikode on Sunday.

“As per the article 252 of the constitution, the state government should pass a resolution seeking central government’s intervention on a subject reckoned in state list, the central government is ready to intervene in the issue. If state government passes a resolution on the subject, BJP will take all steps to protect the rights of devotees” said BJP president.

Meanwhile, Pillai alleged that the UDF and LDF are united in this issue and they are trying to sabotage the rituals and customs of Sabarimala. He also demanded an explanation from UDF for abandoning the protest midway.

He has also condemned the attack against media during the protest in Nilakkal. The BJP president asked the chief minister to take necessary action to restore peace in Sabarimala.
