SANNIDHANAM: IG S Sreejith is responsible for ensuring protection for women at Sabarimala following the Supreme Court verdict allowing women of all ages to enter the temple. Women had reached Sannidhanam from Pampa under police protection led by Sreejith in the past two days. His timely intervention helped to avoid a clash at the temple.

Now, the photograph of Sreejith has gone viral in which he can be seen in front of the sanctum sanctorum of Sabarimala with teary eyes. Sreejith performed 'darshan' at the temple on Monday morning. Woman activist Rehna Fathima, who became famous after 'Kiss of Love' and Mojo TV reporter Kavitha Jakkal had reached Sabarimala on Saturday and they were brought to Nadappanthal by the police team led by Sreejith. However, they returned following the protest of devotees.

"I am also a devotee. I am standing before you as part of my duty. We do not wish to go forward by crushing devotees. However, law should be implemented according to the Supreme Court verdict. It is my duty to protect their rights as well", IG Sreejith told devotees.
