KOZHIKODE: A woman who reached Erumeli on her way to Sabarimala yesterday (Monday) and had to go through protests at several places, finally had to face ban at her home.
The woman is Kozhikode Chevayur Government Higher Secondary school teacher Bindu Tankam Kalyani (42). The owner of the house which she had taken for rent has asked her not to come back to the house.
Besides this, the school has also asked her not to come for duty until further notice. Meanwhile, Bindu has sought shelter in her friend’s house. The show of protest was reported from this place also.
Police had yesterday adventurously rescued Bindu from protestors at Erumeli. The woman had arrived at Erumeli police station at 9:30 am along with her two male friends. She had no Irumudi kettu but asked police to give her police protection.
Bindu was then shifted to Mundakkayam station by a team led by CI. The BJP men gathered in front of the police station. As the crowd grew thicker, the police whisked her into their jeep and tried to speed away. But again protestors tried to block the jeep and pull her out. Police somehow managed to take her to Kanmala bus stand and help her board Pamba bus.
Again that bus was blocked at Vattapara under BJP district president N Hari. Interestingly the Attappa devotees inside the bus also joined the protestors. They crowded around the bus protested. Soon more policemen rushed to the spot and took her to Erattupettah bus stand.
