THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P C George has come forward responding to the priest’s death in Jalandhar. Kuriakose Kattuthara, who had testified against father Franco Mulackal was found dead at Jalandhar on Monday. “There was an advocate who had demanded that the gold in Pathmanabhaswamy temple should be distributed to common people. Where is he now? This death is just like that one. If you attack innocent people, God will punish you”, said P C George.
The prelate was found dead inside his room at a convent in Hoshiarpur district's Dasuya in Punjab on Monday morning.
Dasuya's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) AR Sharma on Tuesday said that no one will be spared if any foul play is found in the priest's death.
On Monday, the brother of Kerala nun, who had accused Bishop Mulakkal of rape, alleged that the sudden death of Father Kattuthara is a "pre-planned murder".
The nun's brother had demanded a thorough investigation into the death of Father Kattuthara.
Bishop Mulakkal was released from Kottayam jail on October 16, a day after being granted conditional bail. He is facing allegations of repeatedly raping a nun of his own congregation, a charge that he denies.
