THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: M Rjagopalan Nair, former president of Travancore Devaswom Board and chairman of Kerala Devaswom Recruitment board said that Sabarimala temple belongs to the Travancore Devaswom Board. Tantri has only the rights to perform the tantric poojas of the temple. The government is obliged to implement the Supreme Court verdict. These protests will not affect the government. Rajagopalan Nair was responding to ‘Kerala Kaumudi Flash’ about the Sabarimala issue.

“Kandararu Rajeevaru had said that he will close the temple if women enter Sabarimala. This cannot be accepted. Tantri is just an employee who is responsible for the temple administration. If he closes the temple, strict action can be taken against him. Devaswom board can appoint a new tantric. There are several laws regarding this. There is no confusion in this. Travancore Devaswom Board has the rights to Sabarimala temple. Thazhamon family and Panthalam royal family have no rights to the temple. They should obey the government and actions taken by the devaswom board”, said Rajagopalan Nair
