PATHANAMTHITTA: 451 cases were registered and 2061 people have been arrested in connection with the attacks across the state over Sabarimala women entry. The arrests were made as directed by the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the high police officials' meet held at Thiruvananthapuram on the previous day. 58 cases were registered and 153 people were arrested in Pathanamthitta. 56 people have been charged with non-bailable offence and they were remanded. The police have been arresting those who are involved in attacks at Sabarimala when the temple was opened for the monthly poojas of Thulam. The attackers were arrested from their homes on Thursday and Friday. About 1500 people have got bail. However, those who are charged with non-bailable offence will be remanded after presenting before the court.
18 people have been remanded from Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Palakkad districts in connection with the protests happened at Nilakkal and Pampa on 17. They were remanded by Ranni court. 74 people were remanded on the previous day. The visuals of attackers were obtained from CCTV cameras placed at Nilakkal, Pampa and Sannidhanam. A lookout notice was issued with the photographs of 210 identified attackers and it was spread on Whatsapp. The photographs have been sent to all police stations across the state. 18 people were arrested following this. They are charged for clashing with the police and destroying vehicles.
The lookout notice was issued on Wednesday evening. The phone numbers of Pathanamthitta police chief, DySP and Pampa CI were also given along with the lookout notice. All the information recieved on the issue have been transferred to associated police stations.
