KANNUR: BJP president Amit Shah arrived at the Kannur international airport terminal on Saturday. The airport has not yet been inaugurated. Amit Shah arrived in Kannur to inaugurate BJP district committee office and he became the first passenger to land at the airport, which has not yet been commissioned.

Kannur International Airport Ltd (KIAL) MD, V. Thulasidas confirmed December 9, 2018 as the launch date after it received the approval from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Six domestic and 11 international airline companies have agreed to fly into CNN. The Kannur airport is expected to serve more than one million passengers annually and authorities estimate the number will increase five-fold by 2025.

Amit Shah will unveil Balidan Smriti at Mararji Bhavan in Kannur, Kerala and later attend Mahasamadhi Navathi Mahamandala Pooja Sammelan at Sivagiri in Thiruvananthapuram.
