SANNIDHANAM: Sabarimala Malikappuram chief priest Aneesh Namboothiri has received threat via telephonic calls and letters. Police have filed a case on the basis of Aneesh’s complaint. He has also handed over the threat letter to the police.
Aneesh Namboothiri had taken a favourable stand towards people who protested against allowing women of all ages to Sabarimala.
He had said that there was nothing wrong in Namajapa protests. He had also endorsed the statement of thanthri Kanadaru Rajeevaru that he would close the temple for parihara kriya (atonement pujas) if young women enters the temple. Chief priest Aneesh now feels that his stand must have provoked them to send him threats.
