KOCHI: The high court has directed state government to ensure protection for all devotees coming to visit Sabarimala. The court stated that the Supreme Court verdict allows temple entry to all devotees including women. It is state government's responsibility to ensure security. The remark came as the court was settling plea filed by women advocates.
"Sabarimala is a symbol of secularism. Therefore the government should provide necessary protection. Security actions should be taken while maintaining the sanctity of the temple", stated the court.
Meantime, the government has informed the court that several criminals had entered the temple. The government also clarified that necessary precautions will be taken to avoid clashes.
